October is already an overwhelmingly exciting month already thanks to the upcoming launch events for Google’s Pixel 3 (we gotta hope the leaks left something out, right?) on the 9th, Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro on the 16th, LG’s V40 ThinQ on the 3rd, and the prospect of the OnePlus 6T that might just launch on the 17th. Samsung is attempting to muscle in on the action by issuing invitations to a new Galaxy event being held on October 11th which is likely to some new mid-range smartphones announced.

While Samsung has intimated that it will be announcing the Galaxy X foldable phone before the end of 2018, the October 11th event doesn’t carry the pizzazz that such an event would demand. Instead, Samsung will probably announce its new range of Galaxy A handsets that will almost certainly feature dual camera setups front and rear. Other than associating the ‘4X Fun’ slogan with twin dual camera setups, Samsung hasn’t given us much to work with here.

It’s also doubtful that it will be a flagship device with the Galaxy Note 9 having only launched a little over a month ago; there’s little chance of Samsung announcing anything that might take attention away from it. So, with a little under a month to wait until the October 11th announcement, we can look forward to what is fast becoming a manic time for new smartphones. If you are in the market for a new phone, it’s advisable to wait a month so you can make an informed decision.

What do you hope to see Samsung announce on October 11th?
