PSEG Long Island customers in the market for an electric car are eligible to receive $10,000 off the negotiated price.
A new promotion through PSEG-LI and BMW of North America is offering this incentive for a new BMW i3 electric car.
“Electric cars like the new BMW i3 reduce air emissions compared to gasoline vehicles and actually cost less to operate,” Michael Voltz, director of energy efficiency at PSEG-LI.
“Every electric car model has its own specifications to suit the needs of different consumers,” he added. “If the 2018 i3 is right for our customers’ driving needs, then they can save money on a new car and help the environment at the same time.”
Additional incentives are also available for buyers of electric cars. Customer may also qualify for up to $7,500 in federal tax credits. And the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority also offers a $1,700 rebate on electric vehicles.
The BMW i3 offers a range “up to 114 miles on a single charge and the same uncompromised driving performance typical of every BMW model,” said Magnus Aspegren, the strategy manager of Electromobility at BMW of North America, in a statement.
To qualify, bring a PSEG/BMW customer information form to any authorized BMW dealershipalong with a copy of their PSEG Long Island bill. The dealer can be outside PSEG-LI’s service territory.
