The Google Pixel 3 XL and OnePlus 6T are two of the best Android phones coming later this fall, and that means potential buyers have a tough choice to make. In this post we’ll go over everything we know so far about both, then compare the two to help you decide.

If you’re hunting for your next smartphone the Pixel 3 XL is a top contender. However, recent leaks while exciting, suggest a big notch and some odd design choices that could have buyers looking elsewhere.

Additionally, OnePlus 6T leaks reveal a phone with specs and a design many didn’t expect to see until 2019. As a result, Google might have some strong competition. Here we’ll go over the rumored specs, screen sizes, cameras, release date details and pricing for those interested.

There are plenty of excellent Android smartphones available right now. If you can’t wait, choose from devices like the Galaxy Note 9, OnePlus 6 or even the LG G7 ThinQ. However, they’re not your only options. Multiple high-end phones are still coming before the end of 2018.

We’re talking about the Google Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL. Not to mention the LG V40, OnePlus 6T, and maybe the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

However, in the United States, and for those that prefer stock Android, the Pixel 3 XL and OnePlus 6T will be the two best options. For the first time, we’re hearing the OnePlus 6T will be available from a carrier, T-Mobile. Then, Google’s Pixel 3 will have wireless charging, a bigger screen, and more.

There’s plenty to like about both, but potentially major differences that will set the two apart. We’re mainly talking about the huge notch in the Pixel 3 XL screen. Or that the OnePlus will likely have an average camera again. However, nothing is official until these phones get announced.

In the meantime, here’s what we know, how they compare, and what to expect in October and November as they both arrive.

Pixel 3 XL vs OnePlus 6T: Display

When it comes to buying a smartphone, the screen size is one of the most important factors. And these days, it’s the screen size AND shape. Mainly because the notch is a popular trend.

And while both of these phones are only rumors right now, we have a very good idea of what to expect. Well, at least the Pixel 3 XL, as it leaked dozens of times.

So far, we’re hearing the Pixel 3 XL will come with a 6.2 or 6.4-inch display with a bezel-free design. That screen will have a deep large notch similar to the iPhone X. For what it’s worth, the smaller regular Pixel 3 will be 5.5-inches and have no notch. Basically, the 3 XL will have a big beautiful screen if you can get over that notch.

Originally we expected the OnePlus 6T to have the same fate, but recent leaks suggest it’ll have a TINY notch. Smaller than any other phone. Something we’re calling a water-drop notch. Essentially the notch is as small as technically possible to only house the front-facing camera. Sensors, microphones, and the speaker will be in the metal grill above the screen. The OnePlus 6T will end up around 6.3 or 6.4-inches.

There is a small chance the Pixel 3 XL won’t have a notch at all. As some rumors floating around speculate that all the leaks were designed to hide the real phone. We’ll know soon enough though.

Either way, these phones will both have similar screen sizes, AMOLED displays, and a notch. That said, if what we’re seeing is accurate the choice is easy — the OnePlus 6T. We have a little while to wait before we know anything for sure, but so far it looks like it’ll be hard to say no to the OP6T.
