Here’s some advice for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro that also applies to pretty much all smartphones: don’t drop it.

After some cruel internet tests, it turns out that it doesn’t take much to damage the screen of Huawei’s 6.4-inch flagship, which in turn breaks the in-display fingerprint scanner. Yikes.

Obviously this tends to be the case with most flagship devices when you start bending and putting pressure on them. Keeping them in your back pocket and sitting down, for example, is just asking for a bent and broken phone.

On the bright side, the back glass of the Mate 20 Pro seems to hold up extremely well and resists scratches like a champ, although drops and impact are still fairly dangerous.

You can check out the torture test of the phone below. Keep in mind this is all pretty extreme stuff that you’ll never subject most phones to, but it does give you an idea of how durable the phone really is.
