HARDCORE gaming fans are in for a treat with the launch of the Honor Play, a performance smartphone with a ground-breaking graphics processor for lightning fast capabilities and extended battery life.
A sub-brand from Huawei, the Honor Play is loaded with a feature called GPU Turbo developed together with its strategic partner PUBG Mobile which delivers an average frame rate of 39.46 while reducing jitter rate to 0.21 per cent and a four-and-a-half hour battery life for gameplay.
The Honor Play will also sport a 4D “smart shock” haptic feature that will deliver realistic vibrations customised for most popular mobile games. This is complemented by the 3D surround sound by Histen 3D audio technology, an ultra-wide 3D sound field that immerses the player in a cinematic audio experience.
The huge 3,750 mAh battery also allows for heavy gaming and entertainment use, equalling more than 15 hours of video streaming and 95 hours for music playback.
Besides gaming features, the phone sports 16-megapixel and two-megapixel rear cameras, and a large 6.3-inch bezel-less display along with a range of smart features enabled by the Kirin 970 NPU chipset which, together with EMUI 8.2, unleashes a truly AI-mazing processing power.
“The Honor Play is a new moment for the global gaming industry. Honor will be the first to offer a phenomenally fun mobile gaming and entertainment experience, paving the future for mobile gaming worldwide,” said George Zhao, President of Honor in a statement.
Honor Play fans will have the opportunity to put their skills to the test and compete with and against the world’s star gamers at Gamescom this year, on PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9. Both games have been customised for the Honor Play, with many others due to be announced.
The Honor Play is now available at Mobile World Brunei, the official reseller of Honor products in Borneo. The smartphone is available in Ultra Violet and Navy Blue with more colours coming soon. Trade-in is also available.
According to Mobile World, the phone is set to become popular for aspiring gamers due to the massive opportunities in cyber gaming as well as the growing number of local eSport communities.
