Maybe you were experiencing something similar on Friday.
If so, we’re not alone.
Comcast said there was a nationwide interruption of some of its Internet, video and voice services. According to Comcast, the outage was due to a fiber cut at a backbone network.
Pennsylvania hit hard
According to an outage map from Level 3 Communications, a significant portion of Pennsylvania was among the hardest hit.
Comcast earlier told CNBC it was trying to restore service as soon as possible. The issue was resolved around 3:30 p.m., said Bob Grove, Comcast spokesman for the Keystone Region which covers all of York County.
“We identified two separate and unrelated fiber cuts to our network backbone providers,” Grove said. “Our engineers worked to address the issue immediately and services are now being restored to business and residential internet, video and voice customers. We again apologize to anyone who was impacted.”
Outages began earlier Friday afternoon around 12:30.
