Sunday morning twitter saw Raiders new wide receiver Antonio Brown post one of the more ironic tweets you’ll ever read. Saying simply “Keep your emotions off the internet.”

The replies are straight comedy as you might expect.

Anyone who has social media or the internet or a TV knows why that tweet is so ironic for the new Raiders receiver. He is a Raiders receiver quite simply because he showed his emotion on the internet. Quite a lot of it in fact, forcing the Steelers’ hand in trading him and probably lowering the value they would receive as compensation. Just the infamous Mr Big Chest video alone is enough.

Those antics worked out well for Brown as well as the Raiders. It got him out of Pittsburgh and to the Raiders where he wanted to be and where he got the guaranteed money he coveted. And the Raiders only gave up a third and fifth round pick to get him.

But even without the emotional offseason for Brown, within minutes of his tweet about keeping your emotions off the internet, he went after his former teammate and fellow receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster for winning Steelers team MVP, saying ‘boy fumbled the whole post season in the biggest game of the year !”

The game Brown is referring to was the Steelers’ week 16 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Brown had 14 catches for 185 yards and two touchdowns in that game, including the touchdown that put the Steelers up 28-24 at the end of the third quarter.

Smith-Schuster had 11 catches for 115 yards, but fumbled the ball away with :41 seconds left in the game and the Steelers down 28-31 and in field goal range.

Brown would sit out the season finale against the Bengals, and even with the Steelers winning the game they still finished 9-6-1 and missed the playoffs.

Smith-Schuster would lead the team with 1426 yards, while Brown was second in receiving (1297) and lead the team with 14 touchdowns.

So, while Brown may be right about the game and possibly right to be a bit upset about it, showing his emotions on the internet was probably not the best way to go about expressing it.

Update: Smith-Schuster had a perfect subtweet response.

Update: JuJu wasn’t done. And he’s not wrong either. Not a good look for Antonio Brown.
