Twitter has announced (on Twitter, of course) that they’ll be updating the Android version of their app to bring the navigation bar to the bottom, departing from the top navigation bar that we’ve had for years. It also brings the app in line with how Twitter’s iOS version behaves.
With phones bigger than ever now, this move to a navigation bar closer to your thumb makes more sense. It’s much easier to jump around to the different sections of Twitter, including your home feed, notifications, messages, and the Moments/search section, since they’re right where your thumb normally rests anyway. Unfortunately this update removes the swipe gestures, so you’ll have to get used to tapping everything again.
The update won’t hit via the Play Store, so just sit tight while Twitter flips the switch on their servers. Let us know if you’ve already gotten the update!
