We are almost midway through June, and that can only mean one thing – that’s right, we are smack bang in the middle of leak season for the Galaxy Note 9. It’s previously been rumored that this year’s Galaxy Note would sport both a larger display and battery, while a variant’s benchmark entry has been spotted. We have a couple of leaks to consider today hinting at faster wireless charging as well as an August 9th launch date.
The August 9th date comes from the KoreaHerald, some two weeks earlier than its predecessor. If you cast your mind back to last year, the Galaxy Note 8 was unveiled on August 23, with the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 being announced even earlier on August 2 in 2016. It’s thought that the Galaxy Note 9 will be announced at an event in New York on the 9th, although there has been talk of the launch happening even earlier on the 2nd of August.
100% sure, Galaxy Note9 battery 4000mAh
— Ice universe (@UniverseIce) June 13, 2018
The second leak comes courtesy of Ice Universe who tweeted that the Galaxy Note 9 would tote a 4,000mAh battery. This increase in battery size would bring the Note 9 into line with other phablets such as the Huawei Mate 10 Pro and mark a significant increase from the 3,300mAh battery found in the Galaxy Note 8. One last tidbit to ponder over is that GalaxyClub believes that the Galaxy Note 9 will feature a faster wireless charger with an input rating of 12 volts and 2.1 amperes.
